Professor Milan Dakich teaches courses in speech communication of technical information for technologists.

He is also currently team teaching a course in written and oral communication for engineers with faculty from the English Department.

His service and research work is in the area of business and technical communication, having served as

co-director of the Merrillville Community Leadership Forum, and researching the latest technology in technical communication.

He serves as the coordinator for the Department of Communication and Creative Arts Internship and Co-op Program.

He has published articles in the IEEE Transaction Communication Journal, the Speech Teacher, and the Popular Culture Journal.

He is currently at work on the Experiential Learning Program, a program started in the fall of 2008 requiring all incoming students to complete two units of EXL courses before graduating. His duties are: supervising students in the program, writing and editing a manual, creating a clearing house of community partners, and giving oral presentations about the program to community groups.
