Ameristar Casino Information Session

Ameristar Casino and Hotel  will be conducting an Information Session on September 16th from 5:00pm-6:00pm in the HTM building Room 193!

 They will be discussing various job openings currently available in the following areas:

  • Cage Cashier
  • Facilities
  • Food and Beverage
  • Marketing
  • Table Games
  • Hotel

This information session is open to all students, however College of Business/HTM students are encouraged to attend. Please RSVP for the event via CareerTrax.

Interviews will be scheduled for the following day for those interested in employment, September 17th, and will be held in SUL 349. Any student not able to attend interviews on September 17th may have the option to schedule interviews for Thursday September 18th or Friday September 19th at Ameristar Casino and Hotel in East Chicago.

The Office of Career Services is now OPEN!!  All Walk-In Services including Resume Review Sessions will resume. Resume Review Sessions for the summer will take place during the following times:

Tuesday:  10:00am OR 2:00pm
Wednesday: 12:00pm
Thursday: 9:00am OR 3:00pm


 All review sessions are first come, first served.  Please bring a copy of your document with you!

The application period is now open for the Interns for Indiana Program!

This year we are collaborating with four wonderful companies offering 8 internship opportunities! Internships will take place during the summer. Interns will complete 400 hours and are provided a stipend of $4,500 paid in three increments of $1,500.

 To qualify:

  1. Be a  full-time junior or senior at the time of the internship (if you are graduating May 2014, sorry you do not qualify)
  2. Completing your first bachelor’s degree
  3. Have a minimum 2.8 GPA
  4. You must complete the application by 4:30pm, Friday, April 11, 2014   Click here for Application

 Sorry, at this time the Interns for Indiana program does not accept graduate students.

Applications must be returned to Amber Garrett in the Office of Career Services (SUL 349) no later than 4:30pm April 11th. The application can be dropped off in the office, faxed in to 219-989-2770 or emailed to amber.garrett@purduecal.edu

Student Employee of the Year

We will be celebrating National Student Employment Week  April 13th-19th, 2014. Student workers make tremendous contributions to the university. To express our appreciation to these students, on Wednesday, April 16th, join us in Calumet Falls from 11 A.M. – 2 P.M. for a Pizza Party and Celebration Cake while listening to the fabulous music of DJ Paul Segal, 219 Productions!

On Thursday, April 17th, the Student Employee of the Year and Student Employee Supervisor of the Year winners will be announced at the Reception, open to the entire campus, in YJean Chambers, Student Union and Library, 3rd floor,  from 12:30 P. M. – 1:30 P.M. at which light refreshments will be served.
