GoArmyEd Grades Policy Change

The new DoDI 1322.25 dated 15 March 2011 and incorporating Change 2, effective 23 May 2014, provides the following new Tuition Assistance requirements:

“Reimbursement will be required from the Service member if a successful course completion is not obtained. For the purpose of reimbursement, a successful course completion is defined as a grade of “C” or higher for undergraduate courses, a “B” or higher for graduate courses, and a “Pass” for “Pass/Fail” grades.”

Human Resources Command Army Continuing Education System (HRC ACES) plans to incorporate this change into the GoArmyEd System for any courses ending after 23 Jul 14. Note that this is a higher standard than is customary in most colleges and universities, where a “D” is a passing grade for undergraduate work and a “C” is considered passing for graduate courses.
