Michael A. McGee, MD, MPH, FACEP attended Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana and completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Psychology from Purdue University Calumet in Hammond Indiana. Dr. McGee also has a Masters in Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Illinois in Chicago, a Medical Doctorate from Rush Medical College in Chicago, and completed his Internship and Residency in the Department of Emergency Medicine at New York University (NYU)/ Bellevue Hospital Medical Center, New York, NY.
Dr. McGee’s most valued Purdue Calumet experience…
“My Purdue Calumet experience was a Blessing in disguise and enabled me to fulfill my aspirations of becoming a physician. After transferring from Purdue West Lafayette because of financial hardship, I became more focused and refined my study techniques thereby excelling in all of my classes. In addition, my involvement in TRIO – Ronald McNair Achievement Program provided insight into higher education as well as a pathway for me to pursue a Masters Degree in Public Health and eventually a Medicine Degree.”
Dr. McGee’s advice to current Purdue Calumet students…
“The sky is the limit! In these difficult economic times, smaller campuses with easily accessible professors and fewer distractions are the quickest way to achieve educational success, thereby increasing your economic opportunities upon graduation without the associated debt that accompany larger academic institutions. Utilize all the resources that are offered at Purdue Calumet (i.e. tutors, research opportunities, higher education programs, job internships, etc.) in order to obtain your major goals in life.”
