BIOL 59500 Advanced Cell Biology

Subject: BIOL 59500 Advanced Cell Biology
Credit: 3 (Class 3)
Prerequisites: BIOL 24300 Introductory Cell Biology and BIOL 24400 Genetics or permission of instructor. 

In this lecture only course, we will explore in-depth cell structure and function. Topics covered include: protein structure; methods used to explore molecular mechanisms and visualize cell structures; membrane structure and transport; electrical properties of membranes; protein sorting and trafficking; structure and function of cell cytoskeleton; cell signaling and communication; cell cycle and control; and cancer.  Primary research studies will be incorporated to reinforce lecture topics.
