Subject: BIOL 41400 Invasive Species Ecology

Prerequisite: BIOL 10100, BIOL 10200, and BIOL 33300

Description: This course is designed to provide students with an up-to-date perspective on invasive species. Part one will cover characteristics of invasive species and the ecological and evolutionary processes that occur when non-native species are introduced into new habitats. There will also be a review of past and present pathways that have led to the introduction and spread of invasives. Part two will cover invasive species control and management. Course literature will be a mix of recent peer-reviewed articles, reports and landmark papers.
