Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is looking for student interns:
Looking for a career with a land management agency? Want some experience working with the public, planning events, helping with the management of a large volunteer program? Looking for some experience in the civic engagement world? Got some skills with a camera and social media? After participating in our summer seasonal training, you will become our expert on social media and help find new ways to engage the public in America’s Great Outdoors. As an Intern at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore you will help develop a strategy to find volunteers for projects that need to be done and you will work with staff and volunteers to help them stay informed. You will be asked to manage a data base of information, and assist in the publication of the volunteer newsletter. Your biggest and most rewarding project for the summer is to plan and implement the annual appreciation event for about 300 people.
Several of our past interns have used the skills developed in this position to help them find jobs in government and private sector settings.
Interested? Contact Lynda_Lancaster@nps.gov.
I will be happy to work with your professors to develop an internship that meets requirements for coursework.
