HAMMOND, Ind. – Purdue University Calumet junior Trent Tucker was one of 15 male student-athletes awarded by the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference for academic excellence, as the conference released its Winter All-Academic Awards this week.
To receive the CCAC All-Academic award, a student must have a 3.25 grade point average or higher and has earned at least 30 semester or 45 trimester hours. The student must also be enrolled at the institution for a minimum of one academic year.
Tucker, a fitness management major, received the honor for the first time. He started all 30 games for the Black and Gold this season, averaging 6.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest.
The Peregrines wrapped up the 2011-12 campaign with a 9-21 overall record and a 5-9 mark in league play. PUC ended its season with a loss in the CCAC semifinals, after defeating Judson in the opening round of the conference tournament.
