The registration office is located in the Schneider Avenue Building. Registration must be done in person. Please park in the east parking lot, at the corner of 169th street and Osborne Avenue, and enter through entrance W8. The registration office is room 097, and is marked “Business Office.” Please view the maps below for further direction.

The C.N.A training program prepares students for certification placement. The program at Purdue University Calumet is approved by the Indiana State Department of Health. It consists of 30 hours of theory instruction and 75 hours of clinical experience (105 hours total). The classroom and nursing skills laboratory portion of the course is conducted on the university campus. The clinical experience is scheduled at an approved long-term facility within the community. Students will learn to function as members of the healthcare team through assisting residents with basic personal care such as bathing, ambulation, nutrition, elimination, comfort, safety, and other routine procedures as well as meeting psychosocial and spiritual needs. - Certification Exam is included in the price. The summer 2012 course will cost $735.

**Prior to the start of CLINICAL portion of the course, all C.N.A. students must obtain the following AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE: Criminal Background Check, Drug Screening, Two-Step TB Test. STUDENTS SHOULD NOT OBTAIN THESE ITEMS BEFORE THE COURSE BEGINS. Students will receive further direction on how to obtain these items from the instructor once the course begins.
- No book is required for the course; However, the book we have recommended as a supplement to the course isNursing Assistant Care by Susan Alvare. Again, this book is NOT required. Click here for more information.
