Sheila St Amour received her B. S. in Chemistry from Purdue University Calumet and her masters degree in Analytical Chemistry from Governors State University.
She currently works as a Senior Chemist for Kemira Water Solutions in East Chicago, IN. where she received a patent for her team’s work on the purification of iron salts.
Sheila lives with her husband in Schererville, IN. They have 3 children, 23-year-old twin boys, and a 19- year-old daughter. Sheila also is involved with her church and enjoys scrapbooking and spending time with her family.
Sheila’s most valued Purdue Calumet experience: “My education at Purdue Calumet gave me the skills and tools needed to build my career. The professors were very knowledgeable and encouraging. Their love of chemistry made them exceptional educators.”
Sheila’s advice for current Purdue Calumet students: “Take the time to become involved in activities like social or academic clubs. Learning doesn’t end with graduation. It continues every day. You’re never too old to learn.”
