Christopher Barbauld (BS ’07) followed his passion and started The Barbauld Agency, a full-service marketing and advertising agency. His company works with many local businesses and non-profits to help make their passion know and grow their businesses.
Their work has made them an award-winning social media agency, working with a variety businesses.
In 2013, the agency was also recognized for its work in several other types of media; winning a Hermes award for a direct mail piece, a Marcom award for logo design, an American Graphic Design and Service Industry Advertising (SIA) award for a billboard.
Recently, Chris was selected as a Young Innovator by Northwest Indiana Business Quarterly magazine.
Erica Watson – Actor, Comedian, Writer, and Director
Born and raised in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood, with a BA and MA from Columbia College Chicago, Erica Watson is an actor, stand-up comedian, writer and film/television director. She appeared in the Oscar-nominated film Precious, following starring in the feature film Dirty Laundry. She has also been featured on TLC’s Big Sexy, The Dr. Phil Show, The Oxygen Network, The WE Channel, Black Entertainment (BET), MSG-TV, and is a recurring talking head for the TV Guide Network. Her critically-acclaimed one-woman show Fat B! is touring around the US, and is a funny, yet thought provoking look at America’s obsession with weight. Erica is also a blogger for the Huffington Post and a regular panelist on Chicago’s favorite morning show Windy City Live. Up next you can see Erica in the film Hammy, The Bear directed by Chris Rock and Empire a new FOX drama by Lee Daniels.
Jacob Yothment is a sophomore majoring in Business. He is the Editor-in-Chief for The Purdue Calumet Chronicle newspaper. In 2012 he graduated from Munster High School where he worked on its newspaper, Crier. Since joining The Chronicle, Jacob has led the staff to winning two writing awards with the Indiana Collegiate Press Association for the first time in nearly a decade.
