Kim Nagy

Kim Nagy is the Vice President of Operations and Chief Nurse Executive at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, Lake Forest, Illinois. Following her entry into healthcare in 1975 as an aide in Radiology Services at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Crown Point, Indiana she has experienced multiple growth opportunities that have prepared her to lead the department of nursing and have direct operational responsibilities for additional areas to include surgical services, emergency services, pharmacy, clinical informatics and professional development. 

 In December of 2010, as the chief nurse executive for Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital she received notification that the department of nursing had achieved Magnet designation the highest recognition for exemplary nursing practice and is one of only 6% of all hospitals nationally recognized at this level of performance.

 Kim is an active member of the Susan G. Komen Board of Directors, Chicago affiliate and currently serves as the Vice President.  She is a member of several nursing organizations including the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, American Organization of Nurse Executives, Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders, National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialist and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

 Kim earned an associate’s and bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Master’s in Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from Purdue University Calumet.  She holds board certification in Advanced Nursing Administration from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. 

Kim’s most valued Purdue Calumet experience:
 “The professional relationships fostered by the department of nursing professors that I had the opportunity to learn from have led to my ability to advance nursing knowledge by way of a virtual classroom with Purdue Calumet that to-date has provided exemplary education for over 14 registered nurses in both the BSN and MSN programs.”
