Upon graduating from Purdue Calumet, Edward Frederici has held a variety of technology focused positions working his way up from junior programmer to Chief Information Officer. After gaining experience at large fortune 500 companies such as Compuware and Sallie Mae, Ed started to focus on start-up technology companies including very successful stints as Chief Information Officer at Performance Assessment Network, Vice President of Operations at ChaCha Search Inc and Senior Director of Software Development at ExactTarget.
Ed’s most valued Purdue Calumet experience:
“My most valued experience during my time at Purdue Calumet was my interaction with the professors who taught my classes. They were knowledgeable about the subject matter as well as the real world and designed classes and curriculums that prepared me to be successful in my career. I learned concepts and approaches to software development that I still use today, 15 years after learning them.”
Ed’s advice for current Purdue Calumet students:
“I would encourage current CIT students to immerse themselves in technology: get an internship, read about what successful companies are doing with technology today and keep on top of trends and emerging technologies. Software development is an experiential career that is ever evolving. Staying current and being ravenously curious about technology will take you a long way.”
