Andrea Pearman, President and CEO of Diversified Marketing Strategies, Inc. (DMS), for more than two decades, has utilized her marketing knowledge in a variety of industries to create opportunities for DMS, which she built from the ground up.
Andrea also is publisher of the award-winning Building Indiana News magazine.
With a radio and television background, she worked for the Chicago office of McGraw Hill’s Construction Division, and Schwendener Construction in Chicago, IL.
These experiences laid the foundation for her to launch DMS, which has grown into an award-winning company. Recently, DMS was named, “2011 Winner of Indiana Companies to Watch”, as well as one of the, “Best Places to Work” throughout North America by Counselor magazine. The company also received a “Small Business Journalist” award from the Small Business Development Center.
Andrea herself is an award-winning and celebrated entrepreneur. She has received the, “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” award by the State of Indiana; and also was named to the prestigious “20 Under 40 to Watch” list.
Andrea started her quest for knowledge in Marketing and Supervision from Purdue Calumet. She is a member of numerous social and professional organizations and holds a special certificate in publishing, branding and web for niche magazines from Niche Publishing California.
The Lansing, IL, native now calls Crown Point, IN home, where she lives with her husband and son.

Andrea’s most valued Purdue Calumet experience: “Purdue University Calumet was what enabled me to live the life I have lived.  Without the experiences, the education and the support the faculty and fellow students gave to me, I would not be where I am today. PUC is what shaped me from someone with a passion into someone with a dream and the knowledge to see that dream come to fruition.  I can’t say enough how much it means to me.”

Andrea’s advice to current Purdue Calumet students: “Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do what you want to.  It is your life and you have to live it!”
