Q. How many Purdue Calumet alums live locally?
A. As of Feburary 2013, 59 percent of Purdue Calumet alumni live in Northwest Indiana (Jasper, Lake, Laporte, Newton, and Porter Counties).
Q. What’s the difference between the Purdue Alumni Association, Inc. (PAA) and Purdue Alumni Calumet (PAC)?
A. PAA is the alumni association for the entire Purdue system–including regional campuses such as Purdue Calumet, Purdue North Central (Westville, IN), Indiana Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), and Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Members of a regional campus alumni association are automatically members of PAA, Inc. So you get two for the price of one! If you receive from PAA an invitation to renew your membership, just let them know from what campus you graduated for Purdue Calumet to get the credit. Thanks.

A. Alumni are Purdue Calumet’s greatest resource. Thanks for wanting to get involved! To submit your nomination, send a cover letter (state the reason you want to get involved and relevant experience) and a resume to the Office of Alumni Relations, Lawshe Hall Room 322, Purdue University Calumet, 2200 169th Street, Hammond, IN 46323-2094 or e-mail them to email@example.com. Your information will be reviewed and you will be contacted soon. Finalists are invited to attend a PAC Board of Directors meeting where they will be interviewed.

Alumni Organizations -Who’s who?
Q. What’s the difference between the Office of Alumni Relations and Purdue Alumni Calumet (PAC)?
A. The Alumni Relations is a University office that works in cooperation with the University community to serve all Purdue Calumet alumni. The alumni office is part of PUC’s Office of Advancement. Purdue Alumni Calumet is an external organization “housed” within the Office of Alumni Relations that is part of the Purdue Alumni Association, Inc. Membership in the alumni association is $50 per year.
Q. What’s the difference between Purdue Alumni Calumet and Purdue Club of Northwest Indiana?
A. The Purdue Club of Northwest Indiana is an alumni group under PAA, Inc. that typically consists of Purdue University (West Lafayette) alumni living in Lake County, Indiana. Click here for more details.
PAC typically consists of Purdue University Calumet alumni. Purdue University Calumet just happens to be located in Northwest Indiana. PAC members are also members of PAA, Inc. However, paying dues for the Purdue Club of Northwest Indiana or any other Purdue Club, does not make you a PAC or a PAA member. There are many Purdue Clubs across the country and around the world and all Purdue graduates, regardless from which campus they graduated, are eligible to join.
Q. Does the Office of Alumni Relations or the alumni association sell tickets to athletic events?

Enrollment Benefits for Children of Alumni
Q. If I’m a Purdue and/or a Purdue Calumet alumnus, can I or my children get a tuition discount?
A. No. Tuition alone does not pay for the full cost of educating a student at Purdue. Therefore, discounts are not available.
Q. My child is interested in attending Purdue. How can he/she get a campus tour?

Q. What is the Telefund?
A. The Telefund is an annual fundraising campaign coordinated by Purdue Calumet’s Office of Advancement. During the Telefund, alumni will be offered the opportunity to make a donation to Purdue Calumet’s Annual Fund. Alumni may designate their contributions to specific academic departments, for scholarships, the Chancellor’s Strategic Development fund, or other areas of the University. Whether you choose to make a gift or not, the Telefund is a great opportunity to update your alumni record and to learn what’s happening on campus.

Q. Does my contribution to Purdue Calumet include membership in the alumni association?
A. No, PAC does not receive funding from Purdue Calumet’s Office of Advancement unless you specifically indicate that you would like your gift to go to PAC. Gifts are tax deductible–membership dues are not. Note that making a gift to PAC does not make you a member of PAC.

A. PAC’s electronic newsletter is the best way to learn about upcoming alumni events and University programs. If you’re not receiving the newsletter, we either don’t have your e-mail address or the one we have on file is no longer valid. Send an e-mail request to firstname.lastname@example.org and include your name, home address and phone number.
