Introduction of New Board Members: We have two new board members: Scott Schaller-School of Management and James Drzewiecki-Purdue Cal Men’s Soccer Coach.
President: Vision – Shontrai asked each director to express what he/she would like to see occur doing the year and what the board’s plans should be. Consensus was that the board should reach out to current students about to graduate, let them know we exist, give them a sense of community and that they can connect back to the university after graduation. We should do our utmost to recruit recent alumni.
Social Committee -We need a new chair of the Social Committee since Shontrai is President and vacated position. Tom volunteered to be new Chair. Should we meet on quarterly basis instead of on a monthly basis? Tom replied that this was tried in the past for two years, but it didn’t work. Nothing was being accomplished and PAC was a less effective organization.
Financial Report: Donna Lail presented report. Mike made a motion to accept financial statement. Alex seconded motion. Motion passed.
Minutes: Minutes were reviewed by all present. Tom made a motion that minutes be accepted. Mike seconded motion. All were in favor, none opposed. Motion carried.
Professional Development: Lisa gave an overview of committee responsibilities. Events are held for the involvement of alumni and current students. Scott interested in taking over as Chair.
New Graduates: Donna- One year alumni party for 2012 graduates will be held on April 12 at the Patio. We need to get the contract from the Patio to Sheryl. Jess Martin has agreed to be the speaker. Nathan Gibson, who is a magician and comedian, will entertain.
