Cancer Cell Research: The Scientific Legacy of Henrietta Lacks

This course explores cancer cell research and the remarkable contributions of Henrietta Lacks. Learn about the stunning advances in the treatment of cancer, AIDs, the polio vaccine, even the first U.S. Space Mission to study the effect of zero gravity on cells. In addition to the scientific advances, the class will learn issues of cross-contamination and scientific works of dubious value.
