A Peep at the Past: Samuel Pepys’ Diaries

Presented by: Lynn W. Zimmerman, Education

Excerpts will be read from Samuel Pepys’ diaries (written between 1660-1669) to get an idea of how diaries and diarists offer a glimpse of their times and world. Mush of what we know about 17th century London and Restoration England comes from these diaries. Participants do not need to read or have knowledge of Samuel Pepys’ diaries prior to this session but may want to look at a brief biography at http://www.magd.cam.ac.uk/pepys/latham.html
